AuSable Valley Central School District Won’t Replace Some Retiring Teachers

Some teachers who retired in the AuSable Valley Central School district, won’t be replaced as part of the 2019-20 budget coming in under the state cap. Officials there say planned revenues including the tax levy and state aid were far less than increases they experienced in health insurance rates alone, according to the Adirondack Daily Enterprise. That amounted to about a million dollars extra the district had to lay out. The total proposed budget is $33,860,944, a 2.37% increase in spending over 2018-19.
