Ranger Rescue In Keene

A ranger rescue in the Town of Keene. On Jan. 2 a hiker collapsed in the snow on Johns Brook Trail. The original call indicated the 22-year-old from Ellenburg Depot was three-quarters of a mile in on the trail. Rangers found the subject and the caller 2.5 miles in on the trail in hazardous conditions. Rangers used backpack carriers and reached the Garden trailhead where they were met by a Keene Valley ambulance. The hiker was taken to Elizabethtown Hospital for further medical care.
