Local Groups Raise Money For Bahamas Hurricane Relief

Members of the Rotary Club of Saranac Lake, with help from the Rotary Club of Lake Placid and contributions from community members, have raised $5,000 for hurricane relief in the Bahamas. The Cloudsplitter Foundation matched the $5,000, so the locals were able to send $10,000 in relief funding, according to the Adirondack Daily Journal. Hurricane Dorian hit the Bahamas as a Category 5 storm on Sept. 1 and 2. The official death toll is 69 people, and damage estimates range into the billions of U.S. dollars.
