Drought Watch For Adirondacks

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced the State has issued a Drought Watch for four regions of New York, including Long Island, the Upper Hudson/Mohawk area, the Adirondacks, and the Great Lakes/St. Lawrence area. “The recent wave of extreme heat has caused a developing drought in several parts of the state and without adequate rain, conditions could worsen,” Governor Cuomo said. “I am encouraging all New Yorkers under local water restrictions to pitch in and take steps to conserve water whenever possible until the advisory is lifted to help prevent a more severe shortage.” A “watch” is the first of four levels of state drought advisories
