Rain Delays Rail Trail Volunteer Event

Due to the predicted rain for both days this past weekend, the volunteer work event on the Adirondack Rail Trail (applying clearcoat stain to the fences) has been postponed to next Saturday September 14 from 8-noon.

Garden Club Awards Grants To Non Profits

The Adirondack Garden Club has awarded 15 grants from their Ellen Lea Paine Memorial Nature Fund to nonprofits making a positive impact on the Adirondack environment. Among the recipients are Adirondack Land Trust (ALT), Saranac Lake Central School, Essex County Historical Society, and Paul Smith’s VIC.

USA Luge Start Championships Sept. 13

The nation’s top luge athletes will gather at the USA Luge refrigerated indoor start training complex on Friday, Sept. 13. At stake will be the annual start championship title. According to the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, the competitions will take place at the USA Luge headquarters at 57 Church St. in Lake Placid at 6 p.m.
