The Saranac Lake village police department has started a bike registry in an attempt to help recover lost and stolen bikes in town. According to the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, to register a bike, fill out a form with an officer at the police station at 1 Main St. with a description of the bike — its make, model, color, serial number — and contact information for the owner. This is a free and voluntary service and is not mandatory.
