On January 19, 2021, State Police arrested 30-year-old Matthew A. Sears of Clintonville following a domestic dispute in North Elba that occurred on January 10, 2021. Police say Sears engaged in a domestic dispute in which he damaged property and violated an active ‘stay away’ order of protection, all in the presence of two children. He’s charged with criminal contempt, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal mischief, among other counts. He was arraigned in the Town of North Elba Court and remanded to the Essex County Jail with no bail.
