Congresswoman Elise Stefanik introduced the American Workforce Recovery Act with Congressman Jason Crow (CO-06). The legislation would provide states with funding from the public workforce system under the Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act to help displaced workers obtain necessary skills for sustained employment. Specifically, the bill: Gives states funding to expand vocational training options for workers and increase remote employment services Grants local workforce boards with funds for reskilling workers through individual training accounts and employer-directed training Allows for flexibility on how displaced workers use their individual training accounts and Incentivizes businesses to offer work-based training
