The highway between Lake Placid and Saranac Lake will be resurfaced, starting Monday, which is expected to delay traffic for the next five weeks. The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports The state Department of Transportation is advising motorists to watch for alternating lane closures on an approximate 6.9-mile stretch of state Route 86 in the village of Lake Placid and the town of North Elba starting next week, weather permitting, for road resurfacing.
