Jones Says Different Weekend Should Honor COVID Victims

Assemblyman Billy Jones says the state should have picked another weekend besides this upcoming weekend to memorialize New Yorkers who died from COVID-19. Governor Cuomo announced that flags will be flown at half-staff and the State landmarks will be illuminated in red, white, and blue to pay tribute to the essential workers who have died during the pandemic over Memorial Day weekend. Jones calls it a disservice to the service men and women who gave their lives defending our great nation and believes a different date should be chosen to honor the 42,000 New Yorkers who lost their lives to COVID.
