Missing Hiker Found, Returned To Safety

Forest Rangers got a call reporting a missing hiker, overdue from a trip in the Lake Placid Region. Forest Rangers found the vehicle at the Adirondak Loj parking lot and determined the man was hiking Mount Marcy. Rangers set out by foot and aerial surveillance joined in and located the missing hiker a quarter mile up the trail from the Panther Gorge lean-to. Forest Rangers t advised they would spend the night in the lean-to and head out the following morning. On June 5, Ranger Scott and the hiker walked out to the Elk Lake trailhead.
