State Police responded to a residence on Copper Way in Lake Placid, town of North Elba, for a report of a male brandishing a handgun. Troopers located 36-year-old Thomas B. Collins of Lake Placid on scene, who was found in possession of a BB gun. Collins used the BB gun to menace the victim and tried to damage her vehicle. He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Menacing, and Attempted Criminal Mischief. Collins was arraigned in the Town of North Elba Court and released on his own recognizance, to appear in court again at a later date and time. A stay away order of protection was issued.
