State Police responded to a report from the Lake Placid Police Department regarding a vehicle that failed to comply. State Police located the vehicle on Knottingham Road in the town of North Elba. Troopers initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle failed to pull over, traveling at a high rate of speed. The pursuit continued westbound on State Route 86, and ended upon entering the village of Saranac Lake, where members of the Saranac Lake Police Department and Lake Placid Police Department set up a roadblock, which stopped the vehicle from traveling any further. The pursuit lasted approximately 3 minutes and reached a top speed of 85 mph. The suspect, 32-year-old Meghan McIntosh of Dannemora, was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Resisting Arrest and Unlawfully Fleeing Police in a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree. She was released with appearance tickets for the Town of North Elba Court.
