State Police responded to a two-car crash on State Route 3 in the town of Harrietstown, near the Panther Mountain trailhead. A 2015 Subaru Impreza operated by 37-year-old Bernard J. McCormick II of Saranac Lake, was traveling west and struck a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado operated by 33-year-old Nicholas Alonge of New Windsor, NY who was traveling west. McCormick died as a result of the crash. Nicholas Alonge was transported to the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake for a broken leg. A passenger in Alonge’s truck, 32-year-old McKenna Alonge was transported by Life Flight to University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT, for a head injury. 9-month-old Emilia Alonge was not injured.
