Essex County, NY Public Health officials say they have updated COVID breakthrough data. On July 30, they reported 17 breakthrough cases out of approximately 700 total cases since mid-January. As of August 26, 2021, 66 total breakthrough cases have been reported to the Essex County Health Department out of almost 850 cases since mid-January.
This means that at this time, less than 10% of infections are occurring in fully vaccinated individuals in Essex County.
