State Police Say Car Thefts Are Up In Franklin, Clinton Counties

State Police is warning the public about a significant increase in the number of car thefts that have occurred in Clinton and Franklin Counties in recent months. State Police report that a total of 31 vehicles have been stolen in these two counties since August of 2021, and in each case, the vehicle was unlocked with the keys left inside. Vehicles are being stolen from both public parking areas and private residences. Troopers are advising drivers to take precautions when leaving a vehicle unattended.
