The town of North Elba has received its first application for an exception from the town’s moratorium on issuing new short-term vacation rental permits. According to the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, Tim and Jill Gerrity are applying for an exception from the moratorium for their property on Juniper Circle, which is the couple’s primary residence. Their application states that without rental income to cover the cost of homeownership while they’re traveling for work they wouldn’t be able to “make ends meet.
