The Lake Placid Village Board of Trustees has a special meeting this week to vote on two applications for an exception from the village’s moratorium on issuing new short-term vacation rental permits. The Lake Placid News reports the village of Lake Placid and the town of North Elba in March passed a local law initiating a six-month moratorium on issuing new STR permits as town and village boards consider changes to their STR regulations.
