The annual Northeastern NY Out of the Darkness Walks, aimed at suicide prevention, includes the North Country Walk being held Sept. 18 at the Lake Placid Horse Showground.
Last year the upstate effort had in-person walks at four locations, engaging close to 2,000 total walkers and raising more thn $250,000. This year’s goal is $250,000 and between all the walks more than 1,000 participants are expected. Specifically, at the North Country walk, the goal is $25,000 with more than 125 participants.
