The town of North Elba has extended its moratorium on the issuance of new short-term vacation rental permits through mid-December. The village of Lake Placid also intends to extend its STR moratorium, but only for residential areas in the village. According to the Adirondack Daily Enterrpsie, the moratorium, which was originally set to end on Sept. 10, was extended as the town council works through administrative processes.
