Highway Grant Money To Promote Safety

New York State has received $48.7 million in combined federal highway grants that will help local, state, and not-for-profit projects improve highway safety. The types of efforts funded include occupant protection, traffic enforcement, motorcycle safety, traffic records, community programs, programs that impact younger or older drivers, pedestrian safety, roadway safety, and efforts to prevent impaired driving. The North Country will receive about $237,000, reports the Sun Community News.
