The Hub on the Hill is combatting the lack of cold food storage in the North Country by raising money to expand its facilities.
One challenge is the lack of USDA-inspected slaughter facilities nearby and readily available to local producers. According to the Sun Community News, The Hub on the Hill’s goal is to raise $39,000 to purchase a 15×20-foot freezer, a 10×20-foot walk-in cooler and a forklift to move product on pallets.
