The North Elba Town Council amended its newly-adopted short-term vacation rental law on Tuesday to decrease the total number of unhosted STR permits that can be issued in certain districts in the town. According to the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, the town council capped “unhosted” permits — or STRs where the owner isn’t required to be a full-time resident or stay at the property overnight while it’s being rented — at 165 with its new STR law, which went into effect in January.
