The state Supreme Court on Thursday blocked a permit issued by the state Adirondack Park Agency for a controversial marina expansion on Lower Saranac Lake, ruling that the agency’s interpretation of its own wetlands regulations “lacked a rational basis.” The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports the appellate court sided with a neighbor of the Saranac Lake Marina on state Route 3, in a ruling chastising the APA for not conducting a carrying capacity study before issuing the permit and saying its interpretation of its wetlands regulations was “unreasonable.”
