Three officers were injured by an inmate armed with a makeshift weapon inside Franklin Correctional Facility Wednesday. The violence unfolded after an inmate began taunting and yelling obscenities at an officer assigned inside one of the medium-security facility’s dorms. The inmate struck one officer, ran off and then was put in a body hold as two other officers responded. Officials say the inmate continued to fight with staff and during the struggle stabbed one officer in the shoulder with an unknown object.
