The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) today announced the temporary closure of the upper locks in Saranac Lake the week of May 1 for routine maintenance. The upper locks will be closed to all boat traffic from May 2 to 4. Canoes and kayaks can be carried around the locks. The upper locks are located between Middle and Lower Saranac lakes.
