Essex County’s Republican primary race for county clerk has two candidates on the ballot: North Hudson town Supervisor Stephanie DeZalia and acting County Clerk Chelsea Merrihew. The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports the primary Election Day is Tuesday, June 27. Both have around 15 years of experience in the county clerk’s office, a goal to revive the county’s satellite DMV offices in the town of North Elba and Ticonderoga, and a passion for making county records and services as accessible to the public as possible.
