Saranac Lake Youth Center Director Aleacia Landon is moving on to new things, and on July 1 she’ll hand off the director position to Jennifer Keller. Keller has been meeting the kids at the center since May 1. She’s starting to put names to faces and engage in their world. Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports Keller taught social studies in grades 9-12 for many years until, like many people, the coronavirus pandemic “upended” her life. She took a step back from teaching and moved up to Saranac Lake, but eventually she wanted to get back into working with kids.
