The Saranac Lake village board passed a moratorium this week on the issuance of new short-term vacation rental permits It’s designed to give the local development board time to review permit applications for existing vacation rentals before taking on any additional applications, reports the Adirondack Daily Enteprise and with the passing of the law, the development board will face a backlog of applications that could take more than a year to work through.
