Troopers arrested Brandon Vara, age 20, of Tupper Lake, NY for attempted assault and endangering the welfare of an incompetent person. Troopers responded to Sunmount CIT for an assault case. An investigation determined Vara hid his medication in his cheek instead of taking them. He crushed up his prescribed medication, placing it in a plastic cup, then took the crushed medication down to the dining hall and poured some of it into the victim’s cup. The victim showed no signs of injury from the medications.
