Woman Charged In July 4th Volleyball Brawl

State Police charged a woman from Oneida with third-degree assault, stemming from a fight over rules of a midnight volleyball game on the Fourth of July. The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports Troopers responded to Ampersand Bay Resort on Bayside Drive at around 12:20 a.m. after receiving a call about a domestic dispute. An investigation determined that 45-year-old Amy Muirhead had been involved in a verbal argument regarding the rules of volleyball when the argument turned physica and Muirhead allegedly struck another person in the face three times and bit that person, causing a cut.
