Adirondack Health’s part-time emergency department in Lake Placid will permanently close at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20, following state approval of the closure plan submitted by Adirondack Health last October. Adirondack Health also received approval from the state to close its Lake Placid dental clinic, where operations have been suspended since June, due to staffing constraints. Both notifications were received by Adirondack Health on Friday.
