Two people were nearly struck by lightning on Follensby Clear Pond Island in Saranac Lake.
The Tupper Lake fire chief tells NBC5, 2 people were camping when lightning hit a tree about 20 to 30 feet from them. The Tupper Lake Fire Department used a rescue boat to get to them. They were then taken to the hospital by ambulance to get checked out. The fire chief said they were both conscious and speaking when they got into the ambulance
