39 year old John Anderson of Keeseville was issued a criminal summons Aug. 28 by the Essex County Sheriff’s Department after they received notification from the Essex County Department of Social Services of an alleged incident of welfare fraud they uncovered during an investigation. Anderson allegedly falsely reported his household income to them, which resulted in his receiving $5,998 in benefits he was not entitled to.
