The Lake Placid Central School District deliberated the benefits and drawbacks of electric school buses during its meeting last week as the deadline for a state-mandated shift to zero-emission buses looms. The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports the Electric School Bus Roadmap is the state’s goal to transition all school buses in the state to zero-emission operation by 2035. As of July 1, 2027, when all school buses purchased in the state must be zero-emission.
