The Lake Placid Central School District is bracing for a potential $617,000 hit to its state aid. The Board of Education discussed the possible state aid cut, the result of policy changes in Gov. Kathy Hochul’s executive budget plan, at its meeting on Jan. 23rd, reports the Adirondack Daily Enterprise. That was the same day Hochul appeared at the Olympic Sports Complex at Mount Van Hoevenberg to speak about her $233 billion budget and to highlight budget items specific to the North Country.
