The Saranac Lake Police Department sent Sgt. Luke Cromp and Chief Darin Perrotte to Law Enforcement Snowmobile School in Old Forge last week. When they return they will be able to patrol on their new fleet of snowmobiles. Sun Community News reports this new mode of transportation stems from the construction of the Adirondack Rail Trail. It is also meant to build on SLPD’s community policing strategy.
