State To Protect Land Near Tupper Lake

More than 14,600 acres of land near Tupper Lake are set to be permanently protected by the state in a $9.3 million sale, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Tuesday. The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports the agreement between the state government and the Nature Conservancy, a nonprofit that focuses on land protection, permanently protects Follensby Pond and will create both public recreational access and a freshwater research preserve.
