Franklin County Issues Advisory About Eclipse

As the total solar eclipse on April 8th approaches, Franklin County Public Health Services urges all
Franklin County residents to make preparations over the next week to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
With the county falling in the path of totality, it is expected that many visitors – approximately 170,000 are
expected between Watertown and Plattsburgh – will flock to the area to witness this rare event as soon as Friday,
April 5th and many will leave our region all at once, as soon as the eclipse ends at approximately 4:30pm on April
8th. Residents are being told to expect travel delays and that cell phone service could be affected.
