Lake Placid municipal crews are planning to flush fire hydrants around the village over the next month. The flushing helps get rid of sediment and dirty water. Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports during flushing, residents may find that their taps suddenly start running brown. Hathaway said that this can be avoided by limiting water use until flushing is complete in the area of the home.
