The Adirondack Health Foundation is hosting a raffle for an antique wooden runabout, which was donated by former Upper Saranac residents Joe and Charlotte Blitt. The 14-foot Peterborough boat has a 15-horsepower outboard motor with seating for five. The boat was built in 1940 by the Peterborough Canoe Works in Ontario, Canada. It was originally owned by former New York Governor and United States Vice President Levi Morton and restored by Joe Blitt. The winning ticket will be drawn on Saturday, July 6 at Adirondack Health’s annual Gala on the shores of Lower St. Regis at Paul Smith’s College. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win.
