Tupper Lake Central School District’s controversial $21.9 million budget proposal passed Tuesday night with 622 “yes” votes and 506 “no” votes, a slim 55% majority. The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports the spending plan was controversial because although it decreases spending by $464,944, it increases the tax levy by $10.3 million, or 8.75%.
