Authorities said a violent violation of a protection order has left a Lake Placid man facing charges. Lake Placid Village Police responded to a domestic incident early April 28 after Austin J. Preston allegedly violated a protection order. After being taken into custody at 4:41 a.m., Preston, 30, was arrested on a felony charge of aggravated criminal contempt and misdemeanor charges of third-degree assault and unlawful imprisonment. Preston was arraigned and released pending additional appearances in Village Court.
