A grant from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) will support the Upper Saranac Foundation’s (USF) efforts to remove aquatic invasive species (AIS) from Follensby Clear Pond.
A total of $3 million was awarded to municipalities and nonprofit organizations this year to combat aquatic and terrestrial invasive species statewide through the NYSDEC’s Invasive Species Grant program. The nearly $47,000 awarded to the USF will support two years of AIS prevention and mitigation at Follensby Clear Pond.
