Bill To Honor State Trooper Who Died After Ground Zero Service Passed

A bill to name the Carpenter’s Flats Bridge across the Ausable River in the Towns of Ausable and Peru in honor of Capt. Christopher J. Garrow passed the state legislature recently. Sun Community News reports Capt. Garrow was a 23-year veteran of the New York State Police who died last year from illnesses stemming from his service at Ground Zero after the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. The bill was introduced by Assemblyman Billy Jones (D-Chateaugay Lake) and sponsored by Sen. Dan Stec (R-Queensbury) in the Senate.
