North Elba’s Black Fly Control Program needs help. According to the Adirondack Daily Enteprise, program officials say the black fly population is slightly higher than last year despite the program’s efforts to suppress the insects using BTI since 1994. They say the program’s method of suppression is effective, but are calling for greater participation in these efforts from local communities, especially Saranac Lake.
