A new trailhead for the Adirondack Rail Trail is set to go up on Station Street in Lake Placid, featuring a picnic pavilion, year-round restrooms, interpretive signage and a parking area. According to the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, the Lake Placid Village Board of Trustees is working with the Open Space Institute, a New York-based conservation organization, to build the trailhead on an almost two-acre plot next to the Lake Placid-North Elba Historical Society.
