Rangers Help Hikers On Van Hoevenberg Trail

Ray Brook dispatch received two calls from hikers on the Van Hoevenberg Trail at 8 a.m. on June 6. The hikers reported that another hiker, 79, from Texas, was on the second day of a solo hike up Mount Marcy and appeared unprepared and disoriented. The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports seven forest rangers responded and reached the hiker at 1:30 p.m., helping him down to Marcy Dam. The hiker said that he had lost the trail overnight.
