Franklin County requested forest ranger assistance with a suspected drowning in Long Lake at 11:24 p.m. on July 4. Two people had jumped into the water at a marina around 10 p.m. and neither could be located. Forest rangers Evan Nahor, Jason Scott and Neilson Snye searched overnight. One swimmer was located alive and out of the water. The second swimmer, 66, from Slingerlands, was found dead at 9:30 a.m. and turned over to the coroner.
