The Ticonderoga Central School District is trying to address a lack of childcare for teachers, with some saying they’ve left the district because they have no option of childcare while they’re working. After three years, the Ticonderoga Community Early Learning Center is become a reality. It’s a childcare center serving up to 48 children ages 6 weeks to pre-school. A grand opening celebration is planned for next month at the old St. Mary’s Catholic School, which closed recently. The programming will be run by the Silver Bay YMCA.
